Mahwah Student A Candidate For National Scholarship

MAHWAH, N.J. — A township high school student could receive a prestigious national scholarship.

Victoria Koa is a candidate to receive a scholarship from the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Special scholarships are administered through the program's Merit Scholarship awards program.

"We wish Victoria luck as she participates in this process," said Principal John Pascale.

Eight students were named commended students by the National Merit Scholarship Program earlier this year. The students placed among the top five percent of the more than 1.6 million students who took the 2015 Preliminary SAT.
