Mahwah Tennis Courts Open, Minus Fardale
Municipal courts are now open for singles matches, but the Fardale courts remain closed for repairs.
MAHWAH, NJ — You cannot be serious! We are, and that's good news for Mahwah tennis players, as municipal courts are open for singles matches as of Saturday, May 16.
According to a web post from the township recreation department, all municipal parks are open for play, except for the Fardale courts, which are still closed for repairs. An announcement will be made once the repairs are completed, and the courts reopened, according to the post.
This week, Gov. Phil Murphy expanded recreational activities allowed to resume as of Friday at 6 a.m., which include private tennis courts. Also included are:

- Batting cages and golf ranges, with foursomes – not just pairings – now allowed to tee-off
- Shooting and archery ranges
- Horseback riding
- Community gardens
As the courts are opening, an area park is closing. The department also announced that effective Tuesday, May 26, Continental Soldiers' Park and parking area will be closed as the artificial turf is replaced. The project, according to a web post, is scheduled to be completed sometime in August.
Prior to the closure, the recreation committee will host a drive-in movie screening of Toy Story 4.
