Mahwah's Pony Power Offers Fall Programs; Registration Open Now

Pony Power Therapies has opened registration for the farm's fall non-riding and "Back to Basics" riding programs.

MAHWAH, NJ — The coronavirus pandemic can't stop Pony Power, they merely adapt to it.

The latest example of this is the announcement of Pony Power Therapies' fall programs, which expand on the summer non-riding programs and add a "Back to Basics" horse riding program.

Registration is open for the program, which serves as the second phase of Pony Power's reopening plan.

"Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, we have shortened our fall semester and will be operating mostly on a monthly basis in September, October, & November," according to the website.

"This second phase of re-opening is contingent on government guidelines and current virus data."

Pony Power is located on a 13-acre, barrier free campus, which is home to 22 horses, six chickens, three goats, three beehives and two pigs.

According to their website, "Pony Power Therapies uses horses and an accessible farm to enhance the physical, social and emotional well-being of children and adults who need extra support."

In the "Back to Basics" program, the farm offers a "relaxed environment" with one-on-one instruction. Riders must be able to "tolerate wearing a mask for 30 minutes and be able to adjust their own mask when necessary."

More information on the program can be found on their website, as can the link to register: https://www.ponypowernj.org/registration

The farm reopened on July 1 as for a summer non-riding program as part of their phase-one coronavirus reopening efforts.
