Medieval Times Hosts Unique Touch Tour For Visually Impaired Kids
Students from St. Joseph's School For The Blind got to feel the weight of a sword, the smoothness of armor, and attended a special contest.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Medieval Times hosted a very special tour for some visually impared students recently.
Ten students from St. Joseph's School For The Blind in Jersey City attended a touch tour of the Medieval Times experience in Lyndhurst Tuesday.
Queen Isabella, the Lord Chancellor, and the head knight greeted the 14- to 18-year-old students.

The students got to explore various costumes, headgear, and weapons by touching them all over. They felt different fabrics and beading on costumes, the smoothness of a knight's helmet and armor, and the weight of a sword.
Horse trainer Amanda Kenny hosted the kids and told them about Medieval Times' more than two dozens horses she trains and cares for.

Students attended a special performance and, with special headsets, heard special narration that described every aspect and detail of the spectacle.
Chris Lucas, who plays the Lord Chancellor, his father is a graduate of the school and wrote a book about it.
