MILLIONAIRES BEHIND THE MICROPHONES
One of the great things about summertime in northern New Jersey is the ability to be mobile, to get out and about and meet friends and relatives that you haven’t seen in some time. Recently I had such an opportunity and met some folks who have become regular readers to my blog. They asked me what I thought about the local broadcasters who were chiding the fans for not showing up at pro sporting events in the area. Well……………………

MICHAEL KAY SCOLDS YANKEE FANS FOR NOT SHOWING UP AT YANKEE HOME GAMES
If Mr. Kay said this then this is clearly another example of a mircrophone holder who has lost touch with reality. Either he doesn’t remember or is too high and mighty to remember what it is like to be a common man, perish the thought. We are in the midst of the worst recession of our lifetime and many men and women work 2 or 3 jobs just to survive. Gas, food, shelter have risen steeply in costs and sometimes there’s not much left. The average fan might find it to be a tad difficult to spring $18 for the Bridge, $50 to park at a Stadium parking garage, or $12 for a beer IN ADDITION TO A MEASELY $175 to sit anywhere between first and third outside of nosebleeds area. Now a family of 4???? FORGETABOUT IT! KEEP IN MIND THIIS IS JUST TO ATTEND ONE GAME!

The voices behind the microphones live a life of chauffers, parking passes, free meals , tickets and all amenities. I’d go to all of the games if I had it like that. So would you. What escapes me is how these men and women cant seem to remember that the real world is quite depressing these days—I mean take alook at the south Bronx or the chop shops by Citi Field
There is no way anyone who is reasonable should knock anyone from making intelligent choices about their own personal entertainment dollar with the prices charged. Maybe it should dawn on Mr Kay that this years version of the Yankees is not an overly entertaining bunch. Partly due to injury this team lacks personality and power that some people find attractive in a team. I mean quick name 5 Yankees?
We should also point out here that basketball , hockey and football also never miss an opportunity to take advantage of its fans. It is fair to say that with our present economics it might just be that professional sports is about to kill its own golden calf
