'Modern Family' Star Julie Bowen Riffs On Encounter With NJ Hiker
Julie Bowen stood in for Jimmy Kimmel, and shared her perspective on a hiking encounter with a Bergen County woman at Arches National Park.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Sitcom star Julie Bowen recently became the star of a story that wasn't put on television, at least until this week.
A Bergen County resident recently recapped her family hiking trip to Arches National Park in Utah, which included a few cuts and bruises, but also a chance encounter with Bowen. The story blew up, and Minnie John even thanks Bowen and her sister, who helped bandage her up, for her brief moment of internet celebrity.
Though John was able to wax poetic about her family's trip, and the meeting with Bowen, what the internet hadn't heard was Bowen's thoughts on the meeting.

Bowen said that her sister, an infectious disease specialist, was "overqualified" to help bandage John up after she fainted and hit her head. Bowen herself, on the other hand, "brought all of my professional expertise to the table by yelling things that I had heard on episodes 'ER'."
"So useless," she added.
