North Jersey's Greg Olsen Named NFL Pro Bowl Starter
Olsen is closing in on third 1,000-yard season of his career.

Greg Olsen has been named to the third NFL Pro Bowl of his career.
The NFL released the 44-man rosters for the game Tuesday night.
Olsen, a Wayne Hills High School alumnus, was named the NFC's starting tight end. A member of the Carolina Panthers, Olsen is just eight yards shy of gaining 1,000 on the season. He should hit that milestone for the third time in his 10-year career when the Panthers play the Atlanta Falcons Saturday in Carolina. He is averaging nearly 71 yards a game.

Although he is a favorite target of quarterback Cam Newton, Olsen only has three touchdowns this season — the least he's had since his rookie season in 2007 when he had two.

Olsen was named a Pro Bowl starter last year, but did not play in the game. He played in Super Bowl 50 against the Denver Broncos. Carolina lost 24-10.

The Pro Bowl will be played Jan. 28. It returns to the AFC vs. NFC format following three years of an "unconferenced" format.
