Opinion: Mayor Says Property Values Will Increase 10 Percent In 5 Years

Mayor Bill Laforet announced Friday his campaign to continue the accomplishments of his term as mayor for the last five years.

As a businessman, not a politician with a long term plan in place, Mahwah has excelled in many ways:

• Lowest taxes in Bergen County, safest community in the state, and ranked among the top 50 safest in the country.
• Highest bond rating. While the State of New Jersey has been downgraded by the rating agencies 7 times Mahwah has achieved and maintained 2 AAA Bond Ratings form both Standard and Poor’s & Moody’s, for the last 4 years, all during my administration.
• Brought new economic growth to Mahwah and jobs, and key influence on our low tax rate.
• Dimensional communication, Ascena, Dress Barn, Valley Health and Wellness, and most recently Jaguar Land Rover, along with many small businesses.

While corporations are fleeing the State of New Jersey, Mahwah has economic growth, low taxes, and jobs.

We have great schools, ranked among the best in the state.

Property values are on the rise, ahead of other communities.

Mahwah is the new Alpine. I believe, that with all of the pillars of our community and success, property values will increase by 10 percent over the next five years.

We continue to improve and maintain roads and infrastructure, pristine drinking water.

I am asking for your vote in November to continue with a vision to continue this long term plan that is paying dividends to you the taxpayers.

You voted for me as your Mayor, I am doing the job as your Mayor. I appreciate the overwhelming support you've shown me during these last five years and appreciate your support again when you choose to vote.
