Sharing the thoughts of a fellow resident...

Not every resident is online...but their voices still deserve to be heard...

The following was written by Yvonne Mayo, a resident of Mahwah. I am sharing this on her behalf. This was not written by me...

My family considers moving to Mahwah the best decision we ever made. This town provides us with excellent schools, great friends, and an amazing support system in some of the most beautiful surroundings in New Jersey. I love this town and the people in this town and am incredibly frustrated by the media’s portrayal of us as something we are not. As a teacher in Mahwah and an HSO President, I tried to remain quiet about recent issues. But now, the stakes are too high to stay silent.

I am proud to endorse David May and George Ervin for Mahwah Town Council. They are good, honest, hardworking men who love our town and will work tirelessly to protect it. They are positive, proactive, and proud to be Mahwah residents. When their opponents go low, they go high. Their only agenda lies in preserving Mahwah as the wonderful town it is. George has been involved in many aspects of our government such as the Zoning Board, Transportation Committee and Planning Board. In addition to being a coach and member of the Boosters, George has been a Recreation Committee Event Chair for the last 12 years. Chances are if you have ever attended a town event, you’ve seen George there, making sure the day runs smoothly. David May is also a constant presence at Mahwah events. One of the most dedicated people you’ll ever meet, David works every day for our town. He is everywhere - VP of Mahwah Youth Sports, Commissioner of the Tennis Program, Recreation Committee, and Girls’ Scouts, He is even the Chair for Outdoor Movie Night.

I urge all my Mahwah friends to go out and vote on Election Day. It is going to be the most important election ever for our town and every voice needs to be heard. If you love this town as much as I do, please vote to re-elect David May and George Ervin to the town council. These men both deeply care about our town and will continue to fight for Mahwah’s best interests.

Sincerely,
Yvonne Mayo
