WATCH: Mahwah Mother-Daughter's 100-Pound Weight Loss Challenge Goes Viral

MAHWAH, N.J. — If losing weight is one of your new year's resolutions, let Cheryl and Tessa Shaw be your inspiration.
The Mahwah mother-daughter duo started a 100-day weight loss challenge in 2014. Since then they have lost 110 lbs. They talked about their efforts on "Good Morning America" Tuesday.
"She came to me one day and she's like, 'Mom, we've got to do something,' and it just spiraled from there," Cheryl, 52, said on the show.

The pair credited a website and YouTube channel, Give It 100, and post brief videos about what they were doing to meet their goal. The pair has kept the routine going.
Their efforts even caught the attention of "Star Trek" actor George Takei, who posted a video of them on Facebook, which has racked up 37 million views.

“I think I’m down 50 [pounds],” Cheryl Shaw said. “At one point I did get down to 150 and then I hurt my knee.”
Tessa, 19, said her highest weight was 185. Her lowest was 125.
