Manalapan Eigth Grader Selected to kick in Youth All-American Game

Fourteen-year-old Michael Caggiano, an eighth-grader from Manalapan, has been selected to kick in the Youth All-American game in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 9.

Acording to the News Transcript, "Caggiano competed in camps throughout the country and earned a No. 2 kicker in the country ranking from Football University, Rivals and Eastbay. Caggiano, who recorded a 47-yard field goal, had kicks from both hash marks — 30-, 35- and 40-yard field goals — and kickoffs to the 15 yard line at the camps."

Caggiano is the first New Jersey kicker to earn these honors. The youth teams will be honored at the High School All-American game sponsored by the U.S. Army and televised on NBC on Jan. 8 in San Antonio, according to the News Transcript.
