The History of Classical China

Join Andrew Meyer as he talks about his new book: To Rule All Under Heaven, about the Warring States Period (481-221 BCE). It describes the era that gave birth to the unified Chinese empire and the inception of great traditions of thought and practice such as Confucianism and Daoism (among other fundaments of Chinese culture).

Professor Andrew Seth Meyer is a Professor of History at Brooklyn College, CUNY. He holds a PhD in East Asian Languages and Civilization from Harvard University, and has lived and studied in China and Japan for 5 years. To Rule All Under Heaven: A History of Classical China from Confucius to the First Emperor was just published by Oxford University Press.
