The Friday Wind-Down: A Jazz Afternoon

The Jose Rodriguez Jazz trio performs Jazz standards, fusion, originals, classic R & B and Rock classics with Jazz sensibilities.  

About the Presenters:  Comprised of Jose Rodriguez on bass, Monroe Quinn on guitar and Michael Advensky on drums, the trio brings a rich blend of experience and passion to every performance.

Jose Rodriguez began piano studies at the age of eight and bass at the age of twelve. Jose earned a master's degree at S.U.N.Y Purchase conservatory and NJCU. He performs regularly in the Latin, classical, jazz, big band and pop genres.

Monroe Quinn began playing professionally at the age of thirteen as part of a musical family that included his father and his brother, and would rehearse in their living room.  Monroe studied for over ten years with jazz guitar great Remo Palmier and in addition to his work as arranger, studio musician and solo guitarist, Monroe can be frequently heard live with many artists.

Michael Advensky on drums is from Jersey City. He is a full time musician and educator who’s been performing for the past 4 decades. He received his masters in music from NJCU in 2005 and is well versed in every genre, specializing in jazz, pop, rock, country and musical theatre.
