Family of 3 Charged in Connection with Shoplifting in Manalapan
Three people in the same Manalapan family were arrested four different times over the weekend of March 19/20.

Manalapan, NJ - Three people in the same Manalapan family were arrested four different times over the weekend of March 19/20, police said, two for shoplifting and one for an outstanding warrant.
On Saturday March 19 at approximately 6:25 p.m., Marianne Stringer, 53, of Manalapan, was apprehended by security at the Rt. 9 Best Buy after she tried to walk out of the store with merchandise valued at $199.98.
Also arrested alongside her was Louis Stringer, 28, of Manalapan. He was caught leaving the store with a hidden item valued at $69.99, police said. Louis then returned to the Best Buy and again tried to walk out with another item valued at $69.99, which is when he was stopped by security, police said.

While they were being processed, police found that Daniel Stringer, a 54-year-old Manalapan plumber who was with them at the time, was found to have an active traffic warrant out of Freehold Township for $1,331. Stringer was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed. Stringer was unable to post bail and was turned over to Freehold Township Police.
Both Louis and Marianne were charged with shoplifting and were processed and released.

However, a day later, at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, Marianne was arrested again for shoplifting, this time at the Wegman's on Rt. 9. She was caught trying to walk out of the supermarket with $76 worth of food, police said. She was held by police and also found with drug paraphernalia on her, they said.
Both the Wegman's and Best Buy in Manalapan have been hit by shoplifters many times before: A woman was arrested earlier in March for shoplifting there, and a man arrested in February.
