The man who is convicted of killing a former Englishtown police officer is scheduled to appeal his murder conviction Tuesday.

Englishtown, NJ - The man who is convicted of killing a former Englishtown police officer is scheduled to appeal his murder conviction Tuesday, according to reports.
Jahmell Crockam was convicted in 2012 for shooting Police Officer Christopher Matlosz, 27, pictured above, three times in the head at close range as Matlosz sat in his patrol car on Jan. 14, 2011. The murder, billed as “execution-style” by some, happened when Matlosz was a Lakewood police officer, but he had previously served as a police officer in Englishtown before joining the Lakewood force. Matlosz was engaged to be married when he was killed.
The public defender’s office will ask Tuesday for the murder conviction to be overturned.
