Manalapan Man Charged In Fatal Route 9 Hit And Run
A 21-year-old Manalapan resident was charged after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal collision in Middlesex County, authorities said.
MANALAPAN, NJ — A Manalapan man was charged on Thursday in connection to the fatal hit and run earlier this week on Rt. 9 in Old Bridge, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.
Prince Fitzpatrick, a 21-year-old resident of Manalapan, was arrested and charged with second-degree leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and third-degree endangering an injured victim.
Fitzpatrick is currently at the Middlesex County Jail where he is awaiting sentencing.

During the early morning of Feb. 15, officials were called in following the report of a man's body lying on the center median between the northbound and southbound lanes of Rt. 9, Ciccone said. When investigators arrived on the scene, they located the body of Anthony Allen, 64, of Asbury Park.
After an initial investigation, it was determined that Allen was struck by car and pronounced dead at the scene. Officer Steven Connolly of the Old Bridge and Detective Matthew Colonna of the Middlesex County Prosecutors’ Office continued the investigation and were able to identify Fitzpatrick as the driver.

The investigation is still considered active and anyone who might have information is urged to contact either Officer Connolly of the Old Bridge or Detective Colonna of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
