Manalapan Police Blotter, July 9 - July 15

Four teen boys stole golf carts from Knob Hill Country Club; they were caught on security camera. And other incidents last week:

MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all of last week's incidents in the Township:

Theft
On Sunday, July 15 at approximately 5:44 p.m., a 74-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor(s) took possession of their wallet worth approximately $100 from a residence on New Beginnings Crossing. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to please contact the Manalapan Township Police Department at 732-446-4300. Patrolman Kyle Williams handled the report.

Burglary/Criminal Mischief
On Sunday, July 15 at approximately 4:30 a.m., Ptl. Brian Cruse and Ptl. Matthew Mattia of the Manalapan Township Police Department responded to the Cumberland Farms located at 46 Rt. 9 North for a report of a burglar alarm activation. Upon arriving to the scene, an investigation revealed that an unknown subject(s) utilized a crow bar to pry open a rear door to this store. There did not appear to be any items of value taken from within this store or further entry gained. Ptl. Brian Cruse handled the initial investigation.

Aggravated Assault/Robbery
On Friday, July 13 at approximately 10:53 p.m., a 23-year-old Manalapan Township resident was assaulted and robbed outside the American Legion Post. The victim alleges that while leaving a party at this location, when an unknown actor struck him in the head and then stole his cellular phone. Anyone with further information regarding this incident is urged to contact this agency. Patrolman Kyle Williams handled the initial investigation.

Motor Vehicle Stop/Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance

On Friday, July 13 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Rolando Lopez, a 29-year-old, single Hispanic male of Freehold was arrested during a motor vehicle stop after he was found to be unlawfully in possession of prescription medication. The motor vehicle stop took place on Rt. 33 westbound. Rolando was processed and released on a summons with a pending court date. Ptl. Matt Porricelli handled the arrest and initial investigation.

Warrant Arrest
On Wednesday, July 11 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Robert Frith, a 48-year-old, unemployed, unmarried, male, resident of Jackson, was arrested and was lodged at Ocean County Correctional Institution regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $500. Patrolman Charles Mazzatto and Patrolman Kyle Williams subsequently transported Mr. Frith to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail.

Shoplifting
On Wednesday, July 11 at approximately 5:34 p.m., employees of the Harmon Face Values store, located at 357 US Rt. 9 South in Manalapan reported that an unknown, male subject selected $459.98 worth of merchandise from the store, walked past all points of sale, and exited the store with the unpaid merchandise. Patrolman Peter Bylsma took the report, which is pending further investigation.

Fraud
On Wednesday, July 11 at approximately 3:45 p.m., a 71-year-old Manalapan resident contacted this agency to report fraudulent activity. The victim alleges that unknown actor(s) utilized the victim’s debit card information to purchase equipment from an online retailer, depriving the victim of $2,099.99. This incident is pending further investigation. Patrolman Peter Bylsma handled the report.

Burglary/Criminal Mischief
On July 10 at 10:05 p.m., patrols responded to the Knob Hill Country Club for theft of golf carts. Upon patrols arrival, the golf carts had been returned but it was determined that there was a burglary to the Knob Hill maintenance garage where the carts were kept. During the burglary, the garage door was also damaged. Police are looking for the four juvenile males that were observed driving the carts earlier in the evening. Patrolman Brian Schank handled the report.

Warrant Arrest
Following a motor vehicle stop on Ryan Road in Manalapan on July 10 at 12:37 a.m., Jake T. Gadson II, a 34-year-old black male, Married, Saint Albans, NY resident, employed as an occupational therapist, was found to have two outstanding warrants. One for $601.00 from Tinton Falls Municipal Court and the second was for $500.00 from Neptune Municipal Court. He was subsequently transported to headquarters where he was processed and then turned over to the Neptune Police Department. Patrolman Eric Voorand handled the arrest.
