Professional Concert Series Presents Italian Opera Performance

Concert

SPOTSWOOD, NJ – Academy of Music and Dance, located in Spotswood, NJ, will present their Faculty Concert Series on Sunday, February 22, highlighting vocal and piano teacher Anna Stefanelli. Stefanelli’s concert, entitled “A Short History of Italian Opera!”, will include both performances of classic Italian arias and art songs, as well as lessons in Italian opera history.

Stefanelli is a renowned lyric soprano whose career includes performances at Carnegie Hall, St. Peter’s Church and the 92nd Street Y, as well as with the New Jersey State Opera Guild and the Mercer County Italian American Festival. Favorites in her extensive repertoire include “Si, Mi Chiamano Mimi” from Puccini’s La Boheme, “If I Loved You” from Rogers and Hammerstein’s Carousel, and “Sempre Libera” from Verdi’s La Traviata.

As a first generation Italian American, Stefanelli believes the spirit of the Italian heritage can be captured in the power of music. Her passion and joy in sharing her love of music is etched into each of her performances, which number 500 and counting.
