Rt. 527/537 Intersection Improvement Project Begins

Improvements on the intersection of Rt. 527 (Siloam Rd./Smithburg Rd.) and Rt. 537 (Monmouth Rd.) have recently begun. The intersection renovations, which are being funded by Monmouth County, will widen Rt. 537 into two lanes of traffic flowing both eastbound and westbound.

A left-hand turn lane will be incorporated into the intersection on both the north and south sides of Rt. 527. A right lane of traffic will also flow straight across Rt. 537.

The project is expected to be completed on Nov. 23, 2012. In the meantime, slow moving traffic is expected to occur sporadically throughout the project, but there will be no lane closures.
