Ok people, this is the second time I am blogging here, let's see how this one goes..... I can bore you with endless statistics of drug and alcohol usage in kids under the age of whatever, the problem is people just don't seem to care unless it happens to them. We as parents are turning a blind eye to what is happening around us here. This county that we live in had the second highest drug overdose deaths of kids between the age of 18 to 25 in the whole state! We are smack dab in the middle of a pandemic of drug and alcohol abuse in our kids, OUR kids! We all need to step it up and realize what is transgressing in the drug world. Heroin is at it purest form right here where we live. Molly's, ecstasy, etc, are being supplemented with synthetic drugs as fillers so the dealers make more profit at the expense of the lives of our children. This all has to get out there. The only way we can get it out there is to educate the kids, the people, you, and everyone needs to get involved. It truly does take a village to raise a child, but this concept has been long by the wayside. There are many programs going on in the high school, middle schools, and even the lower schools are getting the word out, but this is not enough, the stats just keep going higher. We, the people, need to get involved. Go to that "dumb" seminar at the library or the school when you hear about it. Buy a book on your kindle about bullying, drug use in kids, look at a documentary on youtube about the steered straight program, look up the safe kids program on your phone while you are on the bus to work in the morning. Don't just sit back and wait for it to happen, because when it does, it won't be pretty, believe me!
