The Ringing In My Ears From '13 As We Ring In '14

So I broke the golden blogger rule of not posting consistently. Well, now I have something to say and if you cared so much as to click on the link to open this posting, hope you enjoy and would love to hear your feedback one below.

The following is a list of my Top-5 Live Music Moments of 2013...

Before we begin, this list is has an array of international star power and local (REAL local) up-and-comers...some of the moments took place at arenas, theaters, sidewalks and in a residence. The list begins from moment #5 and works it's way up to #1. Let's get to it (drumroll anyone?!):

#5
Pearl Jam
Wachovia Center, Philadelphia
October 22
Show: The band of my generation once again proves why they rank as one of the great live acts currently out there.
Peak: The band once again covers The Who classic "Baba O' Riley" and you literally feel the stands shake at the moment Vedder screams after the line 'It's only teenage waist land...'.

#4
Roger Waters
The Theater at MSG (aka Felt Forum)
November 6
Show: Bob Woodruff Foundation's StandUp For Heroes show with Waters joined by my dear pal Jeff Kazee (Hammond B3) along with a group of wounded war veterans, all contributing either instrumentally or vocally.
Peak: Waters, his band and veterans cover the John Lennon classic, "Imagine" with all of the emotion and passion the song deserves.

#3
Bruce Springsteen
The Theater at MSG (aka Felt Forum)
November 6
Show: Once again, the Woodruff StandUp For Heroes show makes the Top 5 list with a performance of songs (and epic jokes) from the Bruce Springsteen, playing solo and gracing the Felt Forum stage for the first time ever.
Peak: Springsteen performs a mesmerizing version of Suicide's "Dream Baby Dream" (and included on new album release High Hopes) and at what point stands up in front of the veterans in the front row to sing directly to them.  There was not a dry eye in the room.  One of the more powerful performances I have ever seen from Bruce in the over 160 times I have seen him play live.

#2
Paul McCartney
Times Square, NYC
October 10
Show: How many people can they say they've seen a Beatle perform live on the streets of NYC? Macca pulls off great publicity stunt as a tractor trailer pulls into Times Square at noon and performs four new songs off his latest release, New.  As my wife Jen and I stood a mere ten feet from Paul's mic, we were speechless standing so close in his presence.
Peak: McCartney getting out a NYC taxi cab and walking onto the stage that stuck that layed on the tractor trailer. The whole experience (that lasted 14 minutes) was an all-time "holy shit" moment for my both Jen and I.

#1
Spencer Steinlight
Living Room (64 Drew Court)
September 1
Show: Spencer Steinlight picks up his acoustic guitar (one of five guitars owned) and starts strumming while watching his favorite Springsteen DVD, "Live From Hyde Park".
Peak: All-time music highlight (to this point) for me was hearing Spencer sing to "Out In The Street" aka "The Uh-Oh Song". Then singing his favorite part with Bruce, "yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah..."
Priceless. Instant Live Music Moment of the Year.

Maybe this year Paul, Bruce, Roger and Eddie will figure out a way to upstage Spencer.
Bring on 2014.
Happy New Year.

Send me your Top Music Moments of the Year.
