Twp. Committee Meeting to be Held at 3 p.m. Today

An updated version of today's agenda has been posted on the Manalapan Township Web site, and according to the clerk's office the Township Committee Public Meeting will be held at 3 p.m. today.

An earlier version of the agenda stated that the workshop meeting would be held at 3 p.m. and the public meeting would be held at 8 p.m., but that has changed. Now, the workshop meeting will be held at 2 p.m. and the open public meeting will commence at 3 p.m. in the courtroom of the .

At the last Township Committee meeting it was said that reorganization would occur this afternoon, but according to the Township clerk's office that will now most likely take place at the first meeting in 2012.

A public hearing on an ordinance amending and supplementing a section of the Police Department Chapter regarding the table of organization will be held today.

This ordinance, among other things, would reduce the maximum number of lieutenants to three; there are currently five lieutenants in the department.For a look at that ordinance, click here.
