Manasquan, Bay Head Suffered Worst Of Nor'easter Damage, Congressman Says (patch.com) — Manasquan took some of the worst damage from the Sept. 26–27 nor'easter, with Congressman Chris Smith touring local flooding and beach erosion alongside federal and state officials. Local leaders say prior dune, wall, and erosion projects helped limit the impact, and discussions now focus on further strengthening Manasquan and neighboring shore communities against future storms.
   

2. Algonquin Arts Theatre presents "Oliver!" (newjerseystage.com) — Manasquan's Algonquin Arts Theatre is bringing the musical Oliver! to town October 16–25, giving local theatergoers multiple chances to see this classic story live. With familiar songs and a family-centered plot, the production offers weekend and evening performances, and tickets are available online for residents planning a fall night out close to home.
   

3. Girls Tennis: Results, photos & recaps for Tuesday, Oct. 6 (nj.com subscription) — Manasquan's girls tennis team is featured twice in Tuesday's packed statewide schedule, including a home matchup against Hopewell Valley as the top seed in the South Jersey Group 2 quarterfinals. The listing also highlights their No. 13 statewide ranking and places their match among key NJSIAA tournament contests that could shape the rest of their postseason.
   

4. Herbert Fredrick Abrecht (starnewsgroup.com) — Longtime Manasquan and Brielle resident Herbert Fredrick Abrecht has died at 96, remembered for his carpentry skill, construction leadership, and deep local roots. Raised in North Jersey, he built hospitals, municipal buildings, and libraries, loved golf and Atlantic City trips, and leaves behind five children, 12 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Interment will be private.
