Join us at Rutgers University Osher Institute for Lifelong Learning (OLLI-RU) for an ONLINE course about Ireland's Cultural Revival on Oct. 12th.

At the end of the 19th century, Ireland was still a British colony and the Irish people were surrounded by English influences in their daily life. The result was a loss of a distinctive “Irish” identity.

In response, a movement was begun by Irish William Butler Yeats and others to revitalize Irish culture, language, literature, theater, music, dance and sports.

The result was a cultural reawakening that invigorated the soul of the Irish people, fueled the spirit of nationalism, and profoundly changed the course of Irish history.
