• NJ Transit Train Cuts Begin Sunday as Five Weeks of Disruptions Hit New Jersey and Jersey Shore Commuters (shorenewsnetwork.com) — If you rely on NJ Transit from Manasquan or Bay Head, prepare for five weeks of reduced train service and bus substitutions starting Sunday as major bridge work begins. Trains between Bay Head and Manasquan will be replaced by buses through October 25, and riders heading toward Long Branch, Newark, or New York should expect fewer trains, extra transfers, and potentially crowded commutes.
• Arrest in theft of political lawn signs (starnewsgroup.com) — A Manasquan resident has been charged with stealing about 30 political lawn signs supporting Republican candidates along Beaver Dam Road in neighboring Point Pleasant, after home security video captured the thefts. Point Pleasant's mayor and police detailed how detectives traced the suspect's vehicle, and local officials hope the arrest discourages similar behavior ahead of the November elections.
• Rumson-Fair Haven Wins 2026 Shore Conference Girls Tennis Title (tworivertimes.com) — Manasquan's girls tennis team pushed Rumson-Fair Haven to a tight 3-2 finish in the Shore Conference championship match held in Manasquan. Despite the loss, local players delivered key wins in singles and doubles, and the teams are set for a high-stakes rematch in the state playoffs with a Central Jersey Group 2 sectional finals berth on the line.
