Belmar St. Patrick’s Day Parade: See Start Time, Locations

The 49th annual Belmar Lake Como St. Patrick's Day will take place on March 6. Here's everything you need to know.

BELMAR, NJ - Get your green hats ready, Jersey Shore residents.

The 49th annual Belmar Lake Como St. Patrick’s Day will kick off at 12:30 p.m. on Main Street in Lake Como through Belmar on March 6.

According to Belmar Police Department Chief Tina Scott, the Belmar and Lake Como Department of Public Works will begin to place barricades along Main Street from 5th Avenue South to North Boulevard starting at 6 a.m. on Sunday.

Main Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic by 8 a.m. and throughout the duration of the parade.

“If you need to travel to areas east of Main Street, please utilize 5th Avenue, or Ocean Avenue by way of Spring Lake. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be permitted on 8th Avenue, 12th Avenue and eastbound traffic on 18th Ave. until 11:30 a.m.,” Scott said in a Facebook post.

All of North Boulevard from B Street to Main Street will be closed starting at 7 a.m.

Proof of residency will be required to travel east of Main Street in the area of 18th Ave and North Blvd, Scott said. Parade participant staging areas will also be located on the westbound side of 18th Avenue.

Belmar and Lake Como’s parade is perhaps one of the largest in New Jersey, with over 200,000 spectators traveling to the event annually.

Amanda Cregan of Wall and Craig Coyle of Neptune will serve as the grand marshals of the 2022 parade. An investiture mass to honor the grand marshals - both known for their passion for Irish cultural heritage - will take place at 10 a.m. on March 5 at St. Rose Church (601 Seventh Avenue). A luncheon will follow at Dollan's Shore Club (500 Route 71) in Spring Lake Heights.
