N.J. Waitress Gets Taunting Tip: 'LOL'
A waitress said she would have preferred to get no tip than what was written on her dinner receipt: "LOL."

A Belmar waitress said she would have preferred to get no tip than what was written on her dinner receipt:
“LOL”
Jess Jones took to Facebook last week to post a picture of the receipt (see photo) and complain on behalf of “wait staff everywhere,” saying she deserved a lot better than this.

“We make $2.50 an hour,” she said on Facebook. “Most of my paychecks are less than pocket change because I have to pay taxes on the tips I make. I need tips to pay my bills.”
The offending party of eight people were apparently upset that they had to wait an hour for food - and made a note of that, too, on the receipt.

Jones noted that bad tips and harsh notes are part of the job, though this group ”remained satisfied with filled drinks and proper notice that the kitchen was a bit busier than normal.”
Jones, a 20-year-old Rutgers University student and a 2013 Manasquan High School graduate, was waiting tables at D’Jais Bar & Grill when the incident happened, according to The Asbury Park Press.
“I’ve worked in the service industry for five years and I take pride in providing great service to my customers,” she said.
She ended with a note:
“My experience with this table was cruel and unnecessary but sadly it’s not uncommon. With that said: Please be good to your waiters. I know it’s annoying when things aren’t right. I know how aggravating it is to receive a hefty bill when all night you’ve been wondering why the table that came in after you was served before you. But waiters are mere messengers most of the time, and it’s wrong to shoot them, however bad the news.”
