Coal House, Vanity, Anytime Fitness Host Fundraisers for Cancer Concern Center

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues, three local businesses have planned unique fundraisers for the Cancer Concern Center of Point Pleasant Beach.

The Coal House will donate $1 to the Cancer Concern Center for every lunch purchase at its two locations: 2100 Route 35, Sea Girt, and 710 Arnold Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach.

Vanity (602 Higgins Avenue, Brielle) will host a fashion show fundraiser on Sunday, October 27, from 12-3 p.m. at Shipwreck Point Steakhouse (20 Inlet Drive, Point Pleasant Beach). The fundraiser is titled, "Relax in Style while Giving." Tickets are $35 each and include a luncheon, one drink ticket, one door prize ticket, and a fashion show of new designer women's clothing available at Vanity. Tickets can be reserved by calling Vanity at 732-722-8330.

Non-members can visit Anytime Fitness Point Pleasant (2809 Route 88), donate $30 to the Cancer Concern Center, and utilize the gym for one week during staff hours. These hours are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All proceeds from the three fundraisers benefit the Cancer Concern Center, which is entirely focused on supporting women and men with cancer who live in Southern Monmouth County and the Point Pleasant area.

Programs at the Cancer Concern Center include support groups, nutritional counseling, journaling, meditation, new wigs, and day-to-day emotional support. The Cancer Concern Center is a small, grassroots organization run by volunteers. As such, it is dependent on local donations in order to continue supporting neighbors with cancer.

Other fundraisers in October have supported the Cancer Concern Center. These include the Ocean Road School walkathon, in Point Pleasant, and a fall fundraiser at River Rock Restaurant & Marina Bar, in Brick, that was organized by the Mark Burg Band.
