Coastal Monmouth Beach Weather Report For Aug. 10, 2016

There's a moderate risk of rip currents forecast for today - be careful out there.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Highs will be in the mid-80s. Beach winds will be from the south at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The ocean water temperature is 75 degrees.

The surf will around three feet, with southeast swells around two feet. There's moderate risk of rip currents which means wind or wave conditions can support stronger or more frequent currents. Always take a flotation device with you in the water. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with them.

The lightning threat is low, which means there is little chance of thunderstorms.

High tide at Belmar will occur at 1:36 p.m., followed by another low tide at 7:47 p.m.
