Coastal Monmouth County Beach Weather Report For Aug. 3, 2016
Nice beach day on the way, but watch for rips.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies today with highs only in the upper 70s, a nice change from the past week.
Winds will be from the east at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The surf will be around three feet, with easterly swells of three feet. The ocean water temperature is 72 degrees.
There's a moderate risk of rip currents, which means that wind or save conditions support stronger of more frequent rip currents. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with the guards.

Bring the sunscreen or you will burn. The UV index is a 9, which the National Weather Service considers very high.
Good news. There is no lightning threat today.
High tide at Belmar was at 8:18 p.m Low tide will roll in at 2:16 p.m, followed by another high tide at 8:31 p.m.
