Data Shows Bullying, Harassment Numbers In Manasquan, Belmar

State data shows NJ school districts that had the most — and least — bullying and harassment cases. See where Manasquan, Belmar schools are.

MANASQUAN – A number of New Jersey school districts had large numbers of harassment, intimidation and bullying cases this past year as the problems continue to impact the state's cities and suburban areas. Data also shows that cases were reported in Manasquan and Belmar schools.

New Jersey has released its annual list of harassment, intimidation and bullying cases reported by each school district, revealing the most recent data of reported cases.

Below is the list of the local school districts and their number of cases per 1,000 people in 2017-18. Below that are the local school districts and their raw numbers in 2017-18.

A number of suburban areas and charter schools found themselves high on the list. Ocean Gate (see list below) was 19th in the state with around 27 cases per 1,000 students. Princeton Charter School was 26th with around 22 cases per 1,000 students.

The state Department of Education has cautioned that these numbers are reported by each district, so each jurisdiction is responsible for reporting its results fairly and accurately. But they are required by law to report them.

Here is the list of local school districts (out of more than 500) with harassment, intimidation and bullying cases per 1,000 people (the number indicates the number of cases per 1,000 people):

  • 264th BELMAR 5.85
  • 288th MANASQUAN 5.33
  • 296th POINT PLEASANT BEACH 5.19
  • 390th POINT PLEASANT BORO 3.27
