Bullying Webinar Available to Parents, Educators In October
Bullied kids come in every day, said Huntington Learning Center staff in Nanuet, NY who hope their company's free webinar will help parents.

Staffers at the Huntington Learning Center see the impacts of bullying all the time. Kids who come in for tutoring and other help bring their school experiences with them — and some of those experiences make it harder for kids to learn and retain instruction, much less find school to be a productive or safe environment.
"We work with students of all ages, and some of the time they walk in the door with problems," said Amber Mollino, managing director of the HLC in Nanuet.
That's why the staff enlisted the help of the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce to get the word out about their company's free webinar, which available to parents across the country all through October, National Bullying Prevention Month.

The Huntington Learning Center webinar talks about what are the responsibilities of schools and of parents, how bullying has changed, how to help others, and how to build empathy and resiliency in a 24/7 social media environment.
The webinar was crafted in cooperation with Mallory’s Army to bring parents tools to help prevent bullying in their own community. Mallory's Army was formed in memory of Mallory Rose Grossman, 12, of Rockaway, NJ, who took her own life June 14, 2017 because of bullying.

"It's really important that every part of the community takes its part to squash bullying, specially with what's going on in the world today," said Laura Pavoni, the HLC's assistant director in Nanuet.
Parents can log in and watch the webinar all month on the Huntington Learning Center website here.
The Nanuet Chamber is invested in the community's well-being. "We know that bullying is an issue, it has been forever," said Chamber Treasurer George Mollo. "It's an important topic for everyone to be made aware of."
