By definition, erotic art is literature or art dealing with sexual love. Each year we celebrate this art by curating an exhibition that is dedicated solely to this ideal.

This year’s collection of erotica touches upon many art forms: such as photography, video, painting, conceptual and sculpture.

Artists included in this years’ exhibition: Joseph Walton, Ellen Stagg, Hiroshi Kumagai, Matthew Bone, Erin M, Riley, Lenny Campello, Mariel Clayton, Wonderpuss Octopus, Tine Helleshøj, Corwin Prescott, Steven Guermeur, RUGMAN, Chas Ray Krider, Derek Woods, Daniel Belardinelli Paul Romano, Jeff Faerber & Derek Gores

This show includes several artists who have participated in Parlor Gallery’s past erotic art shows.  One such pair is Ellen Stagg and Hiroshi Kumagai.  These two artists are long time friends who recently created a body of new works inspired by Ellen’s newest body of works, her Lomokino films of her models. Hiroshi created his works by taking a moment from these films and reinterpreting that still shot in vinyl. The result is collaboration between Ellen and Hiroshi that feels like cinematic plot sequences.

Parlor Gallery is delighted to introduce several new artists to their roster including Mariel Clayton. Mariel is a self-taught photographer that creates dioramas featuring Japanese miniature dolls. After she creates these miniature worlds for the dolls, she then captures all their “naughty” behaviors on film. Another new artist to Parlor Gallery, Wonderpuss Octopus’ crates bejeweled and ornamental dildos. Also new to the gallery is Matthew Bone’s lusciously painted ladies, and Derek Woods’ softly erotic photographs of tattooed beauties that could be the girls who live next door.

Parlor Gallery presents a unique vision in New Jersey’s art community and features innovative work by some of the best emerging and established artists. We show art the public may not ordinarily have access to and provide a venue for talented young artists who have never had an opportunity to exhibit. The main gallery features an eclectic mix of genres with a focus on mixed media, abstract, outsider, erotic, graffiti and pop-influenced work. Our designer resource room exhibits more mainstream fine art and a flat file of prints and photographs. Parlor Gallery also offers a full range of services including installation, corporate and private curating, interior design, murals and decorative painting. Our goal is to create the premier destination for the Arts in Asbury Park.
