Hurricane Jose Battering Jersey Shore Beaches (Videos)

The storm isn't causing many problems inland, but it's taking its toll along the coast. At least one pier rebuilt after Sandy is damaged.

Hurricane Jose didn't become the big storm that New Jersey feared, but it's doing plenty of damage along the Jersey Shore (see videos below).

Videos and pictures posted on social media showed that the storm is still a threat — and it's causing high surf that's battering the beaches along the shore.

A coastal flooding warning was issued by the National Weather Service, and a tropical storm warning has been issued off the coast. Minor flooding is expected with this morning's high tide, and moderate flooding is anticipated with this evening's high tide.

Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty showed that planks underneath one pier were coming loose. This was the same fishing pier that was rebuilt after Superstorm Sandy in 2012.

Other videos showed the storm approaching houses in Belmar, North Wildwood and Monmouth Beach and rolling up to the Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk.
