Neptune Sergeant Who Killed Ex-Wife In Front Of Daughter Pleads Guilty

Philip Seidle pleads guilty to aggravated manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.

FREEHOLD - Former Neptune Police Sgt. Philip Seidle admitted he fired 12 times at his ex-wife on an Asbury Park Street last June and killed her in front of their seven-year-old daughter, according to app.com

Seidle pleaded guilty in Monmouth County Superior Court on Thursday to aggravated manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.

He could face up to 30 years in state prison with an 85 percent parole ineligibility. His defense attorney plans to ask for a sentence of 10 to 20 years.

Tamara Wilson-Seidle, 51, died in her car on June 16, 2015, after Seidle shot her with his .40 caliber service pistol into the driver's side of her car and windshield. The two had nine children during a stormy marriage that ended 20 days before he killed her.

Seidle, 51, admitted firing 12 times on June 16 in his ex-wife's direction and disregarded the risk she could die.

He said that she had been interfering with his custody of their nine children in the three and a half years they had been separated and found out that morning that another man had moved in.

"Your mother is dead because of her actions, he said in a text to his children after the shooting.
