New Clock In Belmar To Commemorate Borough’s 150th Anniversary
The Belmar Mayor's Ball is slated to fundraise for the commemorative clock, which is set to be ordered early next year.
BELMAR, NJ - This year, the annual Belmar Mayor’s Ball won’t just be a holiday gala for cocktails, dancing and dinner fare: it’s also a fundraising event to fundraise a commemorative item to recognize the borough’s upcoming 150th birthday.
The Dec. 3 event at Waterview Pavilion hosted by Mayor Mark Walsifer and the rest of the Belmar Borough Council will help raise money for a clock on Main Street and 10th Avenue, according to a recent statement provided by the borough. The gala begins at 6 p.m. and features music by DJ Charlie Cavallo and Holme. Black tie attire is optional.
“We felt it fitting to celebrate with a commemorative clock to mark the passage of time,” said Walsifer in a statement. The clock will be dedicated during a ceremony on August 31, 2022.

“We will need to raise $35,000 for the clock and approximately an additional $35,000 for the design and preparation of the placement area and the installation,” he said.
The project will also include a time capsule.
