New Jersey House Raising Questions and Answers

Since Superstorm Sandy hit our shores in October, 2012, NJ residents have been trying to find relevant information on how to rebuild, how to find money to get back into their homes, and how to resume life as normal.

2013 was a bit confusing for everyone, as a storm of this magnitude has not hit the Jersey Shore for a very long time.  In early 2014, however, New Jersey homeowners are beginning to gain a sense of what their options are as far as rebuilding and re-occupying their homes.

Unfortunately, many homes need to be demolished and completely rebuilt.  For others, however, their homes merely need to be raised to protect them from future storms and also to be in compliance with local ABFE regulations an flood insurance requirements.

Thus, there are many questions about the house lifting process in NJ - what does it cost, am I eligible for grant money, how do I find a reliable local New Jersey house raising contractor, and so on.

Rebuild New Jersey is an online resource that serves as a hub for connecting local businesses with reliable local contractors to rebuild.  The website has recently published a massive house raising guide including Frequently Asked Questions to help point homeowners in the right direction.

The guide covers topics on house raising cost estimates, different prices, what trades are involved with the process, how to find and hire a general contractor or house lifting contractor, etc.  It also serves as a valuable resource for grant information and where homeowners can go to apply for rebuilding funds.

Having the proper information is half the battle.  Rebuild NJ aims to help as many Monmouth and Ocean County homeowners gain clarity on their situation and help them through the confusing renovation and rebuilding process.
