Officials: Graffiti Vandals 'Will Be Held Accountable'
Manasquan police still investigating string of anti-police graffiti found throughout borough

The investigation into a recent string of vandalism and graffiti across Manasquan is still ongoing, officials said Monday.
"Those responsible will ultimately be held accountable," said Councilman Owen McCarthy, chair of the borough's Public Safety Committee.
Earlier this month, the suspect(s) went through town during the overnight hours with gold spray paint, tagging several businesses, St. Denis Church and a police cruiser, authorities have said.

One building, InGear Transmission, on East Main Street, was tagged with a message for a specific borough police officer, authorities have said.
Other tags were targeted at the Manasquan Police Department at-large, authorities have said.

While some of the tags included the mark of a notorious east coast gang "Sex Money Murder," investigators do not believe the incident was tied to any gang-related activity. Rather, authorities have said, it was likely a copycat.
Police last week said they had one person of interest with an apparent motive related to a disdain for the borough police department.
Anyone with any information regarding the graffiti is being asked to contact the borough police department.
