Schools Closed Indefinitely; Curfew Being Enforced

Manasquan and Belmar officials have announced schools in both towns will be closed indefinitely. 

The same goes for St. Rose schools in Belmar, where the high school's prinicpal, Sr. Kathy Nace, said on Wednesday, "No power, no school." 

And any violators of the county-imposed curfew of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. are subject to arrest, officials said. 

Both the school closings and curfew currently have no timetable for expiration, officials have said. 

Once power is restored, which JCP&L says could take two weeks in the most affected areas (like Manasquan and Belmar), officials will be able to make those calls. 

REMINDER: Water in both Manasquan and Belmar is safe for drinking.
