Woman Killed By Brielle Train In 2008; State Police Need Help ID'ing

State Police released this updated sketch of the woman struck and killed by a train in Brielle in 2008. They have still not identified her.

BRIELLE, NJ — Fourteen years ago, a young woman was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train in Brielle.

And now this week, New Jersey State Police say they are asking for assistance from the public in identifying her remains. A composite sketch of this woman has previously been distributed by police. This is an updated sketch.

In working on the case, detectives have also sent the DNA out for analysis using more modern technology then was available when she was killed, said NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith.

On June 15, 2008, the woman was struck by an NJ Transit train at the Fisk Avenue crossing in Brielle.

The victim was described as a white female, approximately 18-30 years old, 5’4” tall and approximately 123 lbs with hazel eyes and brown hair.

State Police provided a facial reconstruction sketch created by a detective from the New Jersey State Police Forensic Imaging Unit.
