10 Coronavirus Cases Among Manchester Students, Staff

Superintendent David Trethaway gave an update on cases among students and staff.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Ten new cases of the coronavirus have been reported among Manchester Township students and staff, the school district announced Tuesday.

None of the new positives appear to be connected to in-school activities, Superintendent David Trethaway said.

The new positives are as follows: two staff members from the Whiting School; one student and one staff member from the Ridgeway school; one staff member and one student from Manchester Township Elementary School; two high school students and one high school staff member, and a middle school student who tested positive over the weekend.

Any staff or students who were identified as close contacts are now on quarantine, Trethaway said.

Students and staff at Manchester Township Elementary School are on fully remote instruction after a staff member who later tested positive exposed several other Manchester Township Elementary School staffers at an event outside of the school.

That remote instruction ends this week and Manchester Township Elementary School is to return to a hybrid starting Monday, the district said.
