2 Injured In Marine Helicopter Crash At Joint Base: Authorities

Base officials said the two service members on board are hospitalized but are stable.

JOINT BASE McGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, NJ — Two people were injured Thursday when a Marine Corps AH-1Z helicopter crashed in Wrightstown, Joint Base officials said.

The two personnel who were on board when it crashed about 3:30 p.m. were listed as stable at nearby hospitals, base officials said.

The Marine Corps said the helicopter was an AH-1Z with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 773, Marine Aircraft Group 49, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Forces Reserve. It described the incident only as "a mishap."

The crash is under investigation. Authorities did not provide any identifying information bout those on board.
