Expect Rumbles From Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst This Weekend
Officials said artillery training will be conducted.

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, NJ — The rumbles you may have been hearing Friday will likely continue throughout the weekend, as officials say there is artillery training being conducted at the base this weekend.
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst officials posted a notice on Facebook about the training, saying a U.S. Army unit at the base will be firing heavy artillery and mortars.
"We apologize for the lack of advance notice," the post said. "Thank you for your understanding as we train America's best warfighters!"

Low cloud cover can make the booms sound much louder and closer than they actually are, and the sound may travel farther.
Base officials said concerns can be directed to the Public Affairs office at 609-754-2104.
