Extra Police Planned At Manchester Schools Amid TikTok Threat
The district and police are on alert after information about a generic threat of violence against schools spread across the country.
MANCHESTER, NJ — Manchester Township police said there will be an increased police presence at the township's schools Friday in response to a nationwide TikTok challenge encouraging school violence.
The challenge is a generalized threat, and there are no known credible threats to any Manchester Township schools, Manchester police said. State law enforcement authorities have determined that no New Jersey schools were specifically targeted with threats.
"We take any kind of threat against our schools seriously and the safety of our community is our primary goal," Manchester police said. "We work closely with the Manchester Township School District and will remain vigilant with safety measures, including an added police presence at the schools, to ensure safe learning can continue in all of our schools moving forward."
