Girl, 8, Dies After Discovered In Ocean County Pool At Graduation Party
An 8-year-old girl has died after she was found at the bottom of a pool during a graduation party over the weekend.
JACKSON, NJ — An 8-year-old New Jersey girl has died after she was found at the bottom of a pool during a graduation party this weekend, police said.
Jackson police confirmed the Jersey City girl's death on Tuesday, without providing additional details. Police said Monday that she was in "extremely critical condition."
The girl was found unresponsive in the pool while she was with her parents at a Palomino Drive house in Jackson around 6 p.m. on Saturday, police said. The girl was given CPR before she was transported to Centre State Hospital in Freehold.

She was later transferred to Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Twenty-three people have died in water-related deaths over the past two months in New Jersey, including a woman who was found on a Toms River beach over the weekend, and a boater who died in North Jersey on Saturday.
