Lakehurst Announces Annual Police Awards
"Our officers do an amazing job," Chief Eric S. Higgins said.

LAKEHURST, NJ — The Lakehurst Police Department honored officers and staff for their efforts for the borough in 2016 at an awards dinner on Friday, Chief Eric S. Higgins announced on Facebook.
"Our officers do an amazing job and deserve daily recognition for protecting our community," Higgins said in the post announcing the awards. "It was an honor to once again recognize the outstanding service of our employees for 2016."
Officer Jason Guide was recognized as the 2016 Officer of the Year. Sgt. Iain James received the department's Commendation Award. Sgt. James and Officer Drybola both received the department's Exceptional Service Award. Officer Robert Schroeck received the Chief's Award of Merit.

And records clerk Sharon Van Berkel received a Service Award for her 25 years with the department.
"Thank you for putting others before yourselves," Higgins said.
