Liquor Store Burglar's Identity Sought In Lakehurst

Police are calling him the "Johnnie Walker Bandit." They are hoping someone can identify him by his clothing.

LAKEHURST, NJ — They are calling him the #JohnnieWalkerBandit, and Lakehurst police are hoping someone might be able to identify him.

The man is being sought in connection with a burglary and theft that happened at Bailey's Liquors at 3:12 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28.

"The #JohnnieWalkerBandit is described as a white male, 40 to 50 years of age, medium to stocky build, approximately 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 tall, with light-colored or gray hair and a military style haircut," police said. "This fine, upstanding gentleman was last seen wearing a down winter jacket that appears to be white or light-colored on the bottom," and the top of the jacket is black or dark-colored and he was wearing dark-colored pants.

The man "was last seen fleeing the area heading east on Route 70 by the #ShoeLaceExpress," meaning he was on foot.

"If anyone has information that can identify the stylish clothing the #JohnnieWalkerBandit was wearing" or can identify the man, Lakehurst Officer Robert Schroeck can be called at 732-657-7811 or you can email him at rschroeck@lakehurstpolice.org . Tipsters can remain anonymous, he said.
