Man Hospitalized After Jeep Hits Tree In Manchester

The Monmouth County man suffered a head injury in the crash, Manchester police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — An Monmouth County man was injured when his Jeep Wrangler ran off the road and hit a tree in Whiting, Manchester police said.

Daniel Amble, 49, of Allentown, suffered a head injury in the crash and was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was listed in stable condition, Manchester Capt. Vincent Manco said on Sunday.

The crash happened Friday shortly before 4 p.m. on Pasadena Road, Manco said. Amble's Jeep, which was headed east, went off the road onto the dirt shoulder, then kept going into heavy brush before hitting a tree.

The crash remains under investigation, Manco said, with failure to maintain lane the primary contributing factor.

Manchester police, EMTs from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services and paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital responded.

Patrolman Conner Yatauro is investigating.
