Man Rescued After Shed Collapses On Him In Manchester
The structure had to be lifted and the man was cut free from the debris before he was airlifted to a hospital, fire company officials said.
MANCHESTER, NJ — A man was flown to the hospital Sunday after a shed collapsed on him in Manchester, officials said.
The man was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune after he was freed from the collapse, Manchester Police Capt. Vincent Manco said Monday.
The collapse happened as the man was working to take down the shed on his property, Manco said. An update was not available on his condition.

The collapse happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Fox Hollow section of the township. The Whiting Fire Company said its crews arrived and found the man trapped, and set about freeing him from the structure.
The "crews worked extensively to lift the structure from the individual" and stabilize it, then they used saws to gain access to him and remove him from the collapse, the fire company said.

The man was then flown to the hospital from Bowker Field, the fire company said.
His condition and additional details about the collapse were not immediately available.
Fire company officials said a crew from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst responded, and the man was treated at the scene by EMTs from Manchester Township EMS and paramedics from RWJ Barnabas.
