A call about barking, aggressive dogs brought police to the home and led to the discovery, police said.

A Manchester man is facing multiple drug charges after police found more than 100 bags of heroin, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia in a home while responding to a call about aggressive dogs, police said.

Police were called to a home on Housen Street in the Summit Park section of Manchester on Wednesday for a report of multiple dogs that were acting aggressively toward each other, Manchester Capt. Todd Malland said.

While at the home, Officer Stephen Hankins, Officer Patrick Morgan, and Sgt. Richard Mazza found Bowen Stephenson, 22, hiding inside one of the bedrooms. While speaking with Stephenson, it was learned that he had provided officers with false information in an effort to avoid being apprehended on a no-bail warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, Malland said.
